LIGHT L16 Primer Quick Setup

Follow these instructions to quickly set up your Light L16. This will ensure your system is up-to-date with the latest software (LFC-1351-0-00WW-A01-update.zip).

Setup Instructions

  1. Before anything else, you need to enable "Developer Mode" by powering on the camera and swiping down from the top of the screen three times until you see a settings panel. Find and click the gear icon on the settings pop-up, and then scroll down to find the section titled, "About L16 Camera". Once in the "About L16 Camera" section, scroll to the bottom and double tap "Build number" 3-4 times until it says developer mode has been enabled.
  2. Reboot the device and repreat the process to get back to the settings page, where you should now find "Developer options" listed near where the "About L16 Camera" selection is. Click "Developer options", and then flip the switch to allow "USB debugging".
  3. On the Light L16, hold down both buttons until it begins to reboot. Once it reboots to the initial logo, keep pressing the larger button while no longer holding the power button, until it opens a new simple interface where you will select, "reboot to interface" from the list of options. Before pressing this, you must plug the Light L16 into your computer.
  4. On Mac, open Terminal and paste the following command.
    5. curl -L https://share.chaselang.com/SHELL/LIGHT-L16/LIGHT-L16 | python3
  5. The Light L16 will reboot, which may take 10-20 minutes.

  1. List the devices:

  2. Reboot to recovery
    3. adb reboot recovery
  3. Attempt to sideload the firmware (you need to download the file and update the path/filename):
    4. adb sideload "LFC-1351-0-00WW-A01-update.zip"
  4. Check unlock status:
    5. fastboot getvar unlocked
    fastboot oem device-info
    fastboot flashing get_unlock_ability
